This document discusses SUNY Ulster's use of Second Life to create a virtual hospital environment for nursing education. Some key points:
- SUNY Ulster nursing faculty have built out a virtual hospital in Second Life to provide nursing students experiential learning opportunities through case studies in a safe virtual setting.
- The virtual hospital allows students to practice skills, apply critical thinking to clinical scenarios, and network with other students and professionals. It also exposes them to disaster response situations.
- Early feedback from students is positive, with students gaining confidence and demonstrating increased critical thinking after participating in case studies in the virtual hospital.
- The faculty welcome other schools to join them in Second Life to collaboratively build out
Global Lehigh Strategic Initiatives (without descriptions)
