          Calvin and other early
               protestants.

            The real foundation of
            reformation was laid by
            Martin Luther in 1517,
                when his book ‘The
            Ninety-five Theses’ got
                    published.

  The marriage of Anne
       Boleyn with

   Henry the eighth was

the great cause of formation

  of Protestant Church.

MERITS AND DEMERITS OF
    REFORMATION.
MERITS
 The decline of feudalism and the rise of common law.
 The circulation of Bible.
 The transmission of new knowledge and ideas.
 The invention of printing machine.
 The discovery of America.
DEMERITS

 The abolition of papal authority started disputes within
communities, which led to violence and radical challenge to all forms
of faith.

 During the reign of King Edward VI, disputes started between the
government and perishes over Church property.
CONCLUSION
 In short, reformation was the start of intellectual progress.
It awoke sleeping man and filled the minds with pure
Christianity. It abolished papal authority and corruption of
clerics. Also political powers were given to the House of
Commons.
