2. The COVID-19 Pandemic which the entire world is faced with
beginning from the fourth quarter of 2019 till date has caused
significant impacts on the people’s daily lives.
• RCE Ogun working towards ESD, has risen to the occasion by taking
collective emergency responses by viewing the pandemic as a battle
against humanity’s common enemy in the entire world.
• RCE Ogun as an SDG centre has taken strategic actions to fight the
COVID-19 together.

3. • RCE Ogun acknowledged July 2018 by UNU-IAS.
• RCE Ogun identifies areas of need in communities and engage
them bridging the gap by partnering with organisations with similar
vision.
• This led to Covenant University & Zenith Bank PLC partnership in
2019 as well as ongoing collaboration with Ogun State’s Ministries
(Forestry and Agriculture), schools and other stakeholders.

4. The initiatives:
1. Provision of foot-controlled sanitizers,
2. face masks,
3. Food palliative during the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown
This was in collaboration with the Team members,
community leaders in mitigating the effects of COVID-19.

Management
8. Research endeavours by members of RCE Ogun and Centre for Economic
Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR) on COVID-19 Pandemic:
1. Special Issue in Contemporary Social Science (Taylor & Francis)
The theme is Socioeconomic Shocks, Inequality and Food Systems in the

Other Initiatives by RCE Ogun during the Pandemic
9. The English-Mathematics Clinic (EMA SMART initiative) focuses on a
teaching intervention programme to interface with Terminal Classes in the
Senior Secondary Category and help with the Teaching of Core Subjects
(Mathematics and English Language) in preparation for the final SSCE
Examinations.
• RCE Ogun provides timely intervention via the EMA SMART clinic that
bridges learning gap among secondary school students cum future societal
gap.
• Discussion is ongoing with Media House to host the event and we are
soliciting for partnership
