History of Gaming
1970s
After the magnavox odyssey in 1972, they released a scaled
down version in 1975 that played only Pong and hockey
because the games were so successful, the Odyssey 100. The
Odyssey was designed by Ralph Baer, who began around
1966 and had a working prototype finished by 1968

Fairchild released the Fairchild Video Entertainment System
in 1976.


The Atari 2600 is a video game console released in October
1977 by Atari, Inc.
1980s
In 1985 the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
with controller was released. is an 8-bit video
game console


Nintendo Family Computer was released in 1985
commonly shortened as the Famicom.

The Master System was manufactured and
released by Sega in 1985.
1990s
SNK Playmore Corporation (also known as SNK or Playmore)
was released in 1990. It is a Japanese video game hardware
and software company. The console was designed by Eikichi
Kawasaki.

In 1992 the The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (also
known as the Super NES, SNES or Super Nintendo) was released.



   The Atari Jaguar is a video game
   console that was released by Atari
   Corporation in 1993.

 The PlayStation (sometimes referred to as PS1) is a
 32-bit fifth-generation video game console first
 released by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan
 on December 3, 1994. The PlayStation was the first of
 the PlayStation series of consoles and handheld
 game devices.

The Dreamcast is a video game console which was released by Sega in
November 1998 in Japan and later in 1999 in other countries.

The PlayStation 2 was released in 2000 The

manufactured by Sony as part of the
PlayStation series. It was first released on
March 4, 2000, in Japan, and then was
released on October 26, 2000 in North
America, and November 24, 2000 in Europe.


The GameCube is a video game console
released by Nintendo on September 15,
2001 in Japan, November 18, 2001 in
North America, May 3, 2002 in Europe.
2000s
The Xbox 360 is the second video game
console developed by and produced for
Microsoft and the successor to the
Xbox.

The Xbox 360 was released on
November 22, 2005, in the United
States and Canada; December
2, 2005, in Europe.
