Workflow automates the process of sending email notifications,
assigning tasks and updating certain fields of a record when
certain specified conditions are met and a rule is triggered.
On the other hand with a Blueprint you can, define every stage in
a process and associate the right people and action with each
stage.
For automation, Blueprint is more sophisticated and advanced
than Workflow but it does not replace the need of Workflow.
