 2100 MW Tadadi Gas based Combined Cycle Power
Plant in KumtaTaluk, Uttara Kannada District
 The district has one of the six atomic power stations in
India located at Kaiga which generates 2,231 GW-h of
power annually

Tourism
Banvasi: Banvasi is a place of great antiquity, the main places of interest are the Madhukeshvara temple, the
ruins of a Buddhist stupa and the Veerabhadra temple
Guddalli Peak: is located 1800 feet above sea level and gives a panoramic view of the Karwar and the sea
Katyayani Temple: situated 25 kms from Karwar, the unique feature of this temple is that the shrine of the
goddess is in the shape of a ship
Yana, known as natures wonder, having 2 gigantic rock formations encircled for thickly wooded forest, is
famous as trekkers paradise.
Idgunji Ganesh Temple: is an ancient temple at Idgunji in this place of hoary past.
Nagashrunga Parvata, Subrahmanya Guhe (cave), Naga Thirtha and Netrani Islands are
attractive tourist spots

Water  Average demand and Average consumption 73.87 MLD and 44.37 MLD respectively (including domestic and industry)  Kali, Gangavali, Aghanashani, Sharavathi and Venkatapuraand Varadha are major rivers  The net irrigated area is 16% to the net area sown Power  Average annual consumption- Domestic Consumption 17.03 MU and Industrial consumption 1.81 MU.  Transmission in the district is being done by Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM)  Hydro electric power project across the Sharavati river with a combined capacity of 1470 MW is operated by KPCL  Hydro Electric Power Projects are Supa Dam, Kadra Dam, Kodasalli and Gerusoppa Dam  2100 MW Tadadi Gas based Combined Cycle Power Plant in KumtaTaluk, Uttara Kannada District  The district has one of the six atomic power stations in India located at Kaiga which generates 2,231 GW-h of power annually Power and Water Source: DIC- Uttar Kannada

Tourism Banvasi: Banvasi is a place of great antiquity, the main places of interest are the Madhukeshvara temple, the ruins of a Buddhist stupa and the Veerabhadra temple Guddalli Peak: is located 1800 feet above sea level and gives a panoramic view of the Karwar and the sea Katyayani Temple: situated 25 kms from Karwar, the unique feature of this temple is that the shrine of the goddess is in the shape of a ship Yana, known as natures wonder, having 2 gigantic rock formations encircled for thickly wooded forest, is famous as trekkers paradise. Idgunji Ganesh Temple: is an ancient temple at Idgunji in this place of hoary past. Nagashrunga Parvata, Subrahmanya Guhe (cave), Naga Thirtha and Netrani Islands are attractive tourist spots
