Ismail Bin Ahmed of Raudhat al-Dzākirīn is a seeker of knowledge and a licensed religious teacher by Majlis Agama Islam Selangor and Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan. He owns Language Explore which gives services in academic research besides doing translation works in Malay, English and Arabic.

1. Ismail Bin Ahmed
He taught on Muslim Professionals at IIUM in 2007, was a lecturer in Integrity & Governance for JPJ
officials and on Punca Kemerosotan Daya Fikir Umat Islam for officials from the various State Religious
Departments at ILIM in 2008, was a guest speaker in the students’ induction programs at UiTM, USIM
and KPTM from 2006 to 2008. For 19 years (1993 – 2012), he tutored blind students for their STPM
Shariah Examinations at Sekolah Menengah St. John, Kuala Lumpur.
Ismail has accumulated much of the inherited & revealed Islamic knowledge via the traditional study
circles (halaqaat al-‘ilm) since his teenage. Amongst his teachers were Habib ‘Abdullah al-Habshi,
Dato’ Kiyai Shamsuddin and Kiyai ‘Uthman Azhari of Muar (1984-1986), Tuan Guru Ahmad Ramli,
Kiyai Fathullah Harun, Dato’ Mohammad Hj. Ahmad, Dato’ Hasan Ahmad and Dato’ Saleh Ahmad at
the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur (1988-1990/1993-1998), Dr. Salih Mahgoub al-

Ismail’s forte is research, fiqh al-hadith (analysis of hadiths for belief and practice), comparative
schools in the Islamic creed, jurisprudence and tasawuf. His main concern is to emphasise the correct
way of Islamic belief and practices as deduced from the main sources of Islam as practiced by the
main stream Sunni scholars since the demise of the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬.
Ismail topped his class in the first Diploma in Shariah program at the University of Malaya with CGPA
4.00 (1998 - 2000) and in the Diploma in General Translation program at Institut Terjemahan Negara
Malaysia with an Excellent Pass (1998). He obtained a Diploma in Arabic Language [Excellent Pass]
from Institut Pengajian Ilmu-Ilmu Islam (1992) after a brief one-year sojourn at Pondok Penanti
(Madrasah Manabi’ul-‘Ulum), Bukit Mertajam, Penang (1990-1991) and had attended the Arabic
Language Program at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture Institute, Zamalek, Cairo (April – June, 1990).
Ismail who had his secondary education at the Malay College Kuala Kangsar also holds an ADBM from
ITTAR-SIHE Wales and an MBA from the University of Ballarat (Federation University) Australia. He
owns Language Explore which gives services in academic research besides doing translation and
editing works in English, Arabic and Malay.
Ismail has a profound interest in acquiring languages, the scriptures, history (ancient, medieval and
modern), cosmology and astrophysics.
