Sir,
Recently,a new debate has beentaken place on the sacrificing ofbovinesduring festive seasonby a
particular community across the country.
This has estimatedthat more than two crores of rupeesbeingspenton the purchasing and on the
conduction ofofferingsdulyorganized by the devoteesinthe just concludedEid uj joha , critics
argued on the mannerof slaughtering and the amount spent, could have beena source of socio
economicdevelopmentfundto the community, who representnegligibleproportionineither
governmental or semi governmental organization, resultedthemunable to be endorsedas one of the
valid entrepreneur inorder to obtain the workingcapital loan, usually providedto minority
communitiesby central as well as state ownedminority welfare departmentthroughout the country
against a guarantor , must be a gazettedofficer of any otherdepartment to the government.
Unfortunately,Muslimcommunityyouth who are eager to start own enterprise, couldbe availedby
adequate number of guarantor incomparable to other minorities, alike Sikh,Jain and evenBuddhists.
The representationofMuslimgazetted officialshas beendecreasingalarminglyin almost every
departmentand neitherthe governmentnor the communityleaders have shown theirreforming
initiative intheir action towards amelioratingthe situationmore cooperative than beingpracticed and
suffered.
Those who are against slaughtering, what named after offering, arguedthat, the amount spenton
more than thousand years old ritualsyear after year, didnot bringany kindof reliefor hope amongst
offererto leada dignifiedlife atleastabove than belowpoverty life. Therefore entire amount could
have beenutilizedforgenuine developmentprogram, then the situational stature of themmight
have beendifferent fromthe depictedversion inthe much discussedjustice sacchar committee
report.
But afteranalyzing the facts of debate,a differentimpressionwasgathered and foundthe total
volume of mutton consumptionon last Eid was only10% of the volume , consumedon any holiday
by majority of Indians irrespective ofcaste and creedor color.
Food habits, clothing choice of consuming itemsand choice o expressionmustbe from hindrances,
any diktat unlessthe practices hurts or disturbothers or emerge as the nuisance to maintain decorum
as prescribedin everycivilizedsociety.
Supporters had argued on the sacrificing ofbuffalow, goats and evenof the birds in front of deities
withintemple premisesunderthe veil ofcompensationon indemnityby Hindus and Nepalese anda
fewChristians scatteredin the rural areas of sevensister’sprovince and evenin west Bengal as well.
Environmentalists, believe on,think, act and eat greenhave questionedaboutjustificationbehind
such cruelties, causedmajor changes in climate, temperature and in the diurnal activities, a few
blamedit against the culture and fabric of our land and unjustifiable attitudestowards nature and
natural elements.Theysoughedon the cleanliness beinghamperedandon the negativitybeing
observedby the immature customers around the society. But same group kept mute when at the
interval of every30 days, more than 26,500 cows beingsmuggledthrough Assam, Jharkhand ,Bihar
and west Bengal as safestroute, technically,” informal route” withoutpaying a single pennyunder the
vigil of securityofficialsand many times due to nefariousnessoflocal authorities . Last year 31 lakhs
80 thousand bovineswere smuggledunderthe pleaof that all have caught at no man’s land and were
launderingin a informal route therefore permit of transit shouldbe allowed. As we know smuggling
or transition of cows are not illegal in Bangladeshunlike India, they encourage such activities,
because it givesthem 500 INR/cow includingfoodand other materials extractedas the source of
sugar and leatherindustries. There are as many as one lakh skilledandsemi skilledmanpower are
deeplyengagedinsuch illegalities asany other professional andhad beenmanagedto sentnearly 33
lakhs of animalsduring 2013-14 withoutvalid documentbeingpurchased after the negligence and
rejectionofnon productive animalsby the Hindu owners of differentrural areas of aforementioned
provinces.
They didnot showany resistance as vociferatedin the form of protest during last days, whenthe
bonesfor crystallizingthe sugar and raw leathersfor the making of football and manufacturing of
various leatheritems, are purchased by Hindu traders as claimed by opponents.
May we rethinkand reviewon the performance of depavali, durga puja even holi and could calculate
wastage of moneyspent on healthhazard itemslike crackers bomb, mercury and ledmixedtoxicated
color, nuisance full pandals above all 24 hour longnoise full, pollutionbeingofferedat everyfestive
seasonwithout caring the health, wealth and transportation problemof a civilizedandlaw abided
citizen.UNDER THE NAME OF ORGANISEDPUJA WE ARE COMPEEL TO DANCE TO THE TUNESOF
ORGANISER ,boundto pay what they demandand boundto share what they want, ifanybody protest
the resultsare known to all. Whenany organizer are free to cease the normal mobilityin continuation
and allowedto utilize powerwater or other civic amenitiesagainstno costs then time has come to
debate on such issuesas well.
Physicallywe are still at rural stage mentallywe lack prominence a identitycrisisall along beenwithin
life style , our marketing , transaction evenof important nature rituals did nevertaken place at an
appropriate locations, footpaths pavementsand turnabout of busiestthoroughfareshave become
favorite spot of all activitiesevenvexable allieswere not spared, this insanity underthe banner
reflectsleastmanner ,caused irreparable lossto the individuals, societyand governmentat large,if
those are allowedto run as smoothly as they did thenthousand aged oldOURBANI shouldalso be
