Online assessment and the student journey

Assessment information is powerful... “Feedback is powerful if students know (a) what success looks like, (b) appreciate it is aimed at reducing the gap between where they are and where they need to be, and (c) when it is focused on providing them information about where to next.” (Hattie, 2014 p.67)

  • 5. All students take an online initial assessment for Maths and English skills, getting the right person on the right course. Ensuring students are appropriately supported. English and Maths assessment and diagnostics
  • 6. My Action Planning System (e-ILP) Monitor course progression via the GOAL Gradebook Tutorial and target setting, termly reviews and work ready. Motivating students using information very personal to them.

  • 8. GOAL – Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) All induction materials are placed online and students complete online quizzes to demonstrate their understanding. Interactive online learning platform. Students are awarded digital badges upon completion of activities, such as Study Skills, Induction and mandatory Tutorial sessions.

  • 18. CIS Central Information System – is a staff system that brings all the systems together that surround the student. Central system bringing all of the information together in one place. Search by individual student or by course.
