- Getting outdated Needing to move with the times Need to ensure forward compatibility Problems with reading student records
- new types of jobs Emphasis on ensuring students can adapt to new types of jobs – not about preparing them for specific jobs
- Understanding how to use it – just because can use a computer, does not mean can word process, analyse effectively, etc
- Expectations Students might have unrealistic expectations Might have a vision but difficult to implement Needing to manage expectations Changed format of classes to address this – flipped classroom - typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed by students at home before the class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, or discussions Likely to have further changes in future Format of classrooms is different – facilitate group work Use of libraries is different – no longer a place for silence
- Compatibility – bring your own device Rather than tailoring to each individual device, shift towards compatibility with all devices Will still have downfalls – will need patches
