Editor's Notes
Professor Sprout teaches Herbology, which is the study of magical plants.
Her lessons are generally hands-on, since students must learn how to cultivate plants, which will be used for other magical applications such as potions.
Example: Part of training on using Sani-wipes to disinfect screening device
In the following book passage from HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Trelawney guides her third-year students in learning to read tea leaves for fortunetelling purposes.
ASK: As you listen, pay attention to how Trelawney explains the lesson, what she does and what she has her students do.
(read from Prisoner of Azkaban, pp. 104-108)
