By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
a. talk about the pictures with words guidance
b. predict the ending of the story
ACTIVITIES
Activities :
a. Pre listening :
1. Teacher introduces the story. (refer to TB 43)
2. Teacher shows pictures on power point slides.
3. Get the pupils to talk about the pictures.
4. Show the story on power point slides.
5. Pupils listen carefully.
6. Asks questions to check understanding.
b. While listening and speaking:
1. Teacher shows pictures one by one.
2. Get the pupils’ attention to the words given below each picture.
3. Guide the pupils to make sentences using the word given.
4. Teacher distributes picture cards.
5. In groups, pupils practise making sentences for each picture.
6. Then, pupils combine the sentences to form a complete story.
7. Get the pupils to practise telling the story in groups.
8. Invite the group leaders to tell the story.
9. Teacher provides guidance if necessary.
10. Encourage pupils to give each other peer feedback.
11. Comment on their work and give them suggestions for improvement.
c. Post listening-speaking:
1. Pupils work in the same group.
2. Guide the pupils to predict the ending of the story.
3. Encourage pupils to share their endings to the class.
4. Teacher gives feedback.
5. Teacher and pupils discuss on the moral values based on the story.

b. describe the characters by completing the mind maps with guidance
ACTIVITIES
Activities :
a. Pre reading:
1. Teacher recalls previous lesson by asking questions.
2. Get one or two pupils to retell the story.
3. Teacher may guide the pupils by giving them pictures and key words.
b. While reading:
1. Teacher shows the story on PowerPoint. (TB page 44 & 45)
2. Get the pupils to read the story aloud.
3. Get the pupils to work in pairs.
4. Teacher distributes task sheets.
5. Guide the pupils to answer the questions given.
6. For low proficiency pupils, get them to fill in the blanks with the correct
phrases.
7. Discuss the answers with pupils.
c. Post reading:
1. Pupils work with the same pair.
2. Teacher distributes task sheets.
3. Pupils describe the characters with guidance.
4. Pupils compare their answers with their friends.
5. Show them the answers.

1. write a story with guidance in a beak book
ACTIVITIES
Activities :
a. Pre writing:
1. Put up pictures on the board. (refer to power point slides-TB page 47)
2. Get the pupils to talk about the pictures.
3. Teacher shows the story on power point slides.
4. Get the pupils to read sentence by sentence.
5. Ask questions to check understanding.
6. Go through the meanings of the difficult words with the pupils.
b. While writing:
2. Show pictures with words to the pupils.
3. Allow the pupils to practise construct sentences orally with guidance.
4. For low proficiency pupils, encourage them to use simple sentence.
5. Teacher distributes task sheets.
6. Pupils work in groups.
7. Pupils writes sentences based on words and pictures guidance.
c. Post writing:
1. When the task is completed, pupils display their task sheets on the wall.
2. Pupils walk around the class and edit mistakes on their friends' task
sheets.
3. Check pupils' work and make corrections if necessary.
4. Guide the pupils to make a beak book. (TB page 51)
5. Pupils rewrite the sentences in the beak book.
6. Tell the pupils to write the sentences in one paragraph.
7. Exhibit pupils’ works on walls in the classroom.
8. Teacher and pupils have a gallery walk around.
9. Encourage pupils to give each other feedback.
10. Comment on their work and give them suggestions for improvement.

ACTIVITIES
Activities :
a. Presentation:
1. Teacher asks pupils on their previous lesson.
2. Pupils tell what they know and understand about irregular verbs.
3. Get the pupils to give a few examples of irregular verbs that do not
change form and irregular verbs in past tense form that change
completely.
4. Write pupils’ responses on the board.
b. Practice:
a. Matching activity:
1. Get the pupils to work in groups.
2. Tell the pupils how to do the activity.
3. Teacher distributes task sheets.
4. Pupils cut and paste the irregular verbs in present tense form and match
them to irregular verbs in past tense form.
5. Check the answers with pupils.
b. Choose the correct answer:
1. Pupils work in the same group.
2. Teacher distributes task sheets.
3. Pupils read the passage and change the verbs in the brackets to past
tense.
4. Discuss the answers with pupils.
c. Production:
1. Teacher distributes task sheets.
2. Pupils work individually.
3. Pupils read the sentences and choose the correct irregular verbs.
4. Go through the answers.

b. act out the dialogue written with guidance
ACTIVITIES
Activities :
Presentation:
1. Teacher recalls previous lesson by asking pupils to name two characters
from the story.
2. Asks a few questions. (Where was Alice? Who was with Alice? How was
Alice felling at that time? What did Alice suddenly see?
3. Get the pupils to read the text. (TB page 52).
4. Asks questions orally to check understanding.
Practice:
1. Teacher tells the pupils that this story can be written in a dialogue form.
2. Teacher gives example by putting up a dialogue on the board.
3. Divide the pupils into two big groups.
4. Assign characters to each group.
5. Get the pupils to read the dialogue in groups.
6. Teacher distributes task sheets.
7. Tell the pupils that they will create their own dialogue for Alice.
8. Guide the pupils to create the dialogue.
9. For low proficiency pupils, get them to fill in the blanks with the correct
words or phrases.
Production:
1. Once all the groups are done, get the pupils to act out the dialogue.
2. Teacher and peers give feedback.

DAILY LESSON PLAN WEEK DAY DATE CLASS TIME SUBJECT 11 Monday 12/03/2018 4A 12:30-1:30 ENGLISH LANGUAGE THEME TOPIC World of Stories Unit 5: Rosemary and the Four Gutsy Gnomes FOCUS SKILLS Listening and speaking LEARNING STANDARD 1.1.4 LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: a. talk about the pictures with words guidance b. predict the ending of the story ACTIVITIES Activities : a. Pre listening : 1. Teacher introduces the story. (refer to TB 43) 2. Teacher shows pictures on power point slides. 3. Get the pupils to talk about the pictures. 4. Show the story on power point slides. 5. Pupils listen carefully. 6. Asks questions to check understanding. b. While listening and speaking: 1. Teacher shows pictures one by one. 2. Get the pupils’ attention to the words given below each picture. 3. Guide the pupils to make sentences using the word given. 4. Teacher distributes picture cards. 5. In groups, pupils practise making sentences for each picture. 6. Then, pupils combine the sentences to form a complete story. 7. Get the pupils to practise telling the story in groups. 8. Invite the group leaders to tell the story. 9. Teacher provides guidance if necessary. 10. Encourage pupils to give each other peer feedback. 11. Comment on their work and give them suggestions for improvement. c. Post listening-speaking: 1. Pupils work in the same group. 2. Guide the pupils to predict the ending of the story. 3. Encourage pupils to share their endings to the class. 4. Teacher gives feedback. 5. Teacher and pupils discuss on the moral values based on the story. Pre reading: 1. Teacher recalls previous lesson by asking questions. 2. Get one or two pupils to retell the story. 3. Teacher may guide the pupils by giving them pictures and key words. b. While reading: 1. Teacher shows the story on PowerPoint. (TB page 44 & 45) 2. Get the pupils to read the story aloud. 3. Get the pupils to work in pairs. 4. Teacher distributes task sheets. 5. Guide the pupils to answer the questions given. 6. For low proficiency pupils, get them to fill in the blanks with the correct phrases. 7. Discuss the answers with pupils. c. Post reading: 1. Pre writing: 1. Put up pictures on the board. (refer to power point slides-TB page 47) 2. Get the pupils to talk about the pictures. 3. Teacher shows the story on power point slides. 4. Get the pupils to read sentence by sentence. 5. Ask questions to check understanding. 6. Go through the meanings of the difficult words with the pupils. b. While writing: 2. Show pictures with words to the pupils. 3. Allow the pupils to practise construct sentences orally with guidance. 4. For low proficiency pupils, encourage them to use simple sentence. 5. Teacher distributes task sheets. 6. Pupils work in groups. 7. Pupils writes sentences based on words and pictures guidance. c. Post writing: 1. When the task is completed, pupils display their task sheets on the wall. 2. Pupils walk around the class and edit mistakes on their friends' task sheets. 3. Check pupils' work and make corrections if necessary. 4. Guide the pupils to make a beak book. (TB page 51) 5. Pupils rewrite the sentences in the beak book. 6. Tell the pupils to write the sentences in one paragraph. 7. Exhibit pupils’ works on walls in the classroom. 8. Teacher and pupils have a gallery walk around. 9. Encourage pupils to give each other feedback. 10. Comment on their work and give them suggestions for improvement.

Presentation: 1. Teacher asks pupils on their previous lesson. 2. Pupils tell what they know and understand about irregular verbs. 3. Get the pupils to give a few examples of irregular verbs that do not change form and irregular verbs in past tense form that change completely. 4. Write pupils’ responses on the board. b. Practice: a. Matching activity: 1. Get the pupils to work in groups. 2. Tell the pupils how to do the activity. 3. Teacher distributes task sheets. 4. Pupils cut and paste the irregular verbs in present tense form and match them to irregular verbs in past tense form. 5. Check the answers with pupils. b. Choose the correct answer: 1. Pupils work in the same group. 2. Teacher distributes task sheets. 3. Pupils read the passage and change the verbs in the brackets to past tense. 4. Discuss the answers with pupils.

Teacher recalls previous lesson by asking pupils to name two characters from the story. 2. Asks a few questions. (Where was Alice? Who was with Alice? How was Alice felling at that time? What did Alice suddenly see? 3. Get the pupils to read the text. (TB page 52). 4. Asks questions orally to check understanding. Practice: 1. Teacher tells the pupils that this story can be written in a dialogue form. 2. Teacher gives example by putting up a dialogue on the board. 3. Divide the pupils into two big groups. 4. Assign characters to each group. 5. Get the pupils to read the dialogue in groups. 6. Teacher distributes task sheets. 7. Tell the pupils that they will create their own dialogue for Alice. 8. Guide the pupils to create the dialogue. 9. For low proficiency pupils, get them to fill in the blanks with the correct words or phrases. Production: 1. Once all the groups are done, get the pupils to act out the dialogue. 2. Teacher and peers give feedback.
