3. WHAT IS A LEOPARD?
• A Leopard is a Mammal with a age expectancy of 21-23 and
some leopards live for up to 30 years
• Leopards are found mostly in Africa, Asia and the Middle East
and can also be found in places like China and South America.
• Leopards are up to 95cm long and 75cm tall on average. Most
leopards tails are from 60-90cm and the weigh from 30-90kgs.
• Leopards have the scientific name Panthera Pardus and are also
know as Panthera.
• Leopards are able to run up to 57 kilometres and are known to
be Carnivores.
4. STATISTICS OF A LEOPARD
• Leopards have been endangered for 15 years as their bones are
known to cure diseases and their skin is used for covering
furniture or rugs.
• Leopards have also been used for their meat and they are poached
and either sold and used for lots of things like eating or
preserving.
• Leopards prey on things like antelope, deer, they are protective of
food and they also eat humans.
• People believe that leopards were around before humans and they
used to all live in Africa and South America
• The biggest Leopard ever found was 120cm long and weighed
95kgs.
5. WHY LEOPARDS ARE ENDANGERED
• Leopards have been hunted by humans for various reasons like
their skin is very valuable to lots of companies and their meat can
also be sold.
• Leopards are very dependable for their meat and skin because of
its value, this is why it is hunted so often and poached.
• People with livestock in common Leopard areas are forced to kill
them because they are quick at killing because of their great
strength and jumping ability.
• They are very good tree climbers and can capture things like
special birds or endangered animals that live in the Ozone layer.
• Leopards are mainly endangered because of humans and they are
great creatures with such great abilities or skills and they should
not be killed.
6. WHAT WE CAN DO TO PROTECT THIS
CREATURE
• Leopards are very strong animals and are hard to bring down
and they are very good at running and climbing trees.
• Leopards should be protected as an endangered animal
because of their nature and their protection is very important
because Leopards are very important because of their products
• Leopards are common in Africa which is a very common place
for hunters, this is why people are so common at finding
Leopards.
• Leopards should not be captive but on things like reserves to
protect them since they are killed almost worldwide, most
hunters usually find wild leopards and if the leopards are in
reserves they will be protected.
