3. FOUNDER’S STORY• Introduction: Let me start my story by telling you where I am today. I am on a mission to unlock the potential of people and ideas in the
complicated world of stock investment. And I do by helping people with knowledge skill we use in stock investment /trading but neglect –
Wisdom!
• Background: I am passionate about stock investment because I was someone who invested in stock and was completely wiped out in the Stock
Exchange Crash of 1987. My passion for the lost and hurting investors grew and I start to look for knowledge and wisdom to help others. I read
and researched on stock investment and leadership and had written articles on Financial Planning, Investments, Money, Business, Work,
Leadership…and other related subjects with precepts from the Holy Books notably the Quran and Bible and emerging trends in AI.
• Triggering events: I read and saw emerging trends in Responsible Investing, Faith-based Investing, development and operation of Social Stock
Exchanges and the usage of AI and related technologies to power the “Stock Exchange of the Future.” But no Scriptural Principles or Frameworks
from the main faiths of the world. I was invited by Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, founder of the LimKokWing University worldwide to develop Malaysia’s
first Social Stock Exchange. I was challenged: create a model that his 150 professors have not done before! I revised the proposals 3 times but we
have different perspectives in the vision & mission of Malaysia’s first Social Stock Exchange. I am indebted to him for his guidance.
• Milestone actions: My plan was to impress Lim Kok Wing and his Team with facts, figures and examples of Social Stock Exchanges in operations (a
few now in existence) and pitched with passion. I had passion but not enough focus and ‘meat.’ I failed in my first attempt.
• Turning points / Crisis: When I finished my presentation to Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing and then another Dubai investor later, they smiled – Yes, thank
you but we need more ideas what you are talking about. The Dubai investor said that I was up to strong competition from the Muslim scholars
and financial professionals on the new concept of world’s first Islamic Social Stock Exchange (none yet). I was crushed both times but did not give
up!
• Conclusion & Resolution: I prayed earnestly. I ask God for guidance – to send people, organization and resources to help Create, Educate &
Innovate Responsibly by setting up WISE Academy to promote all about this new World’s Integrated Stock Exchange (WISE): “Stock Exchange of
the Future.” “And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” - Bible
