– Get to know our members, and build relationships
– Contribute locally, and make a lasting difference
• Crucial to help sustain our programming
• An opportunity to help our members achieve
their goals and dreams!

Program have?
• Help our members achieve their goals and
dreams
– Empowering our members to be independent
– Enhancing their programming to further their life
skills, social skills, job training, active living,
alternative therapy

5. What is unique about the LAD
Program?
• Beyond sponsoring and donating to a member
– But seeing exactly where your sponsoring dollars are
going to
• No administration costs
• Sponsorship dollars go directly into programming
• Beyond writing a cheque...
– But to interact with our members and build genuine
relationships with them
• Drop in, take them out to lunch, bring them to your
workplace... (the ideas are endless)

6. What difference can YOU
make?
We are asking people to commit to sponsoring
ONE member
for ONE full year (with the option of renewing)
For $100 a month or $3.33 a day
*A tall latte at Starbucks

And the burden doesn’t have to be on just you!
We are encouraging you to get family and
friends involved!
The $100 a month may be a commitment
from your family, your household, your
group of friends, your coworkers, etc...

8. What kind of results can we
see?
• We currently have 2 sponsored members!
– One Example: Danny
• Goal: to lose weight
• Problem: Overweight, health issues, lack of physical
activity
– Purchased a Treadmill
– Keep Danny accountable
with regular exercising as part of his active
living program
– Not only benefits Danny,
but many other members as well!

9. Where does the money go?
• 100% of the sponsorship money goes directly
into programming
– To help our members
• achieve their goals and dreams
• Be independent
• Enhance their programming and specialized curriculum
• Examples
– Hire music therapists to work with our members
– Hire an athletic coach, Computer Instructor
– Purchase a exercise equipment, etc...

10. Are there other ways of
helping?
• Dare to Dream Scholarship
– You are able to donate any amount of money that
will go towards this scholarship
– To help provide one of the 400+ people in York
Region on the waiting list, enrolment into our day
program

11. What Do I Get?
• Tax Receipts (for $10 donation or more)
– Centre for Dreams is a recognized Charity
• Quarterly Reports and Updates
• A profile of who you are sponsoring
• A letter from the President of the Centre for
Dreams
• A sponsorship certificate
• The knowledge and satisfaction that you are
making a real difference in the lives of our
members!
