3. • The terms collection and compilation are synonymous
• Compilations of data or compilations of preexisting
works may also be copyrightable if the materials are
selected, coordinated, or arranged in such a way that the
resulting work as a whole constitutes a new work [1].
What are collections?
Some examples of compilations that may be
copyrightable are:
• A collection of sound recordings of the top hits of 2018
• A book of news photos

and adaptation all refer to the same thing
• Derivative work (or remix) is a work "based on
or derived from one or more already existing
works. [2].
What are remix, derivative work, and adaptation ?
Remixes can be created with many types of
media, such as video content, photos, audio
files, text, etc.
A remix can considered as a new work and It
can be protected by copyright.
