This document summarizes data from SK&A on physician access to drug and device sales representatives from 2009 to 2014. It finds that the percentage of physicians permitting access has declined from 77.1% in 2009 to 68.1% in 2014. It also analyzes trends in access by specialty, state, office size, daily patient volume, ownership, region, and metropolitan statistical area. Appointment requirements have also increased over this period. The data is based on telephone surveys of over 700,000 physicians across the United States.
