Howto Record WebEx Meetings
In this guide, you will learn how to:
1. Record your WebEx meeting
2. Find the recordings
3. Add meeting recordings to Blackboard
Part 1: Recording the WebEx Meeting
Option 1
1. Start your WebEx meeting.
2. Click the Recorder button on top right.
Now your meeting should be recorded. You should be able to see Recording with a red dot in the
Recorder panel.
Option 2
You can also start/stop your recording from the Meeting menu.

Part 2: Finding the Recordings
1. Go to https://mediaspace.itap.purdue.edu/
2. On the top right, click Login.
Click to stop the recording.

3. Login with your Purdue Career Account and Password.
4. You should see your name on the top right after logging in.
5. Click on your name, and choose My Media.
6. Click on the title of the meeting to see the details.
7. Under the media player, choose the method you want to share.
Link to Media Page: This allows the viewers with the link to see the recording on the media page.
Embed: This will make the media public to the world. But the recording can be embedded directly into your
Blackboard site, and any webpage.

Part 3: Adding the Recording to Blackboard
Option 1: Link to Media Page
1. On the media page, click Share.
2. Choose Link to Media Page. (See part 1 and 2 with details.)
3. Copy the URL for the link to Media Page (Ctrl+C on PC or Command+C on Mac).
4. Go to https://ipfw.blackboard.com/
5. Login with your IPFW Username and Password.

6. Go to the course and find the place where you want to link the media.
7. In the Edit view, type the title for the recoding (e.g., Week 2 Online Office Meeting Recording).
8. Select the text that you want to link the video.
9. Click the Insert/Edit Link button.
10. In the pop-up window, paste the copied URL to the Link Path text box.
11. For Target, choose Open in New Window(_blank).
12. Give the link a title.
13. Click the Insert button at the bottom right corner. (See the image below for steps 10-13.)
14. Now there should be an underline below the text, indicating a link is added.
15. Click the Submit button to save the change.
Option 2: Embed the Recording
1. On the media page, click Share.
2. Choose Embed. (See part 1 and 2 with details.)

3. Copy the Embed code (Ctrl+C on PC or Command+C on Mac).
4. Go to the course and find the place where you want to embed the media.
5. In the Edit view, type in a placeholder text (e.g., the word “here”).
6. Click the HTML button to switch to the HTML view.
7. Find the placeholder text in the HTML view. And replace it with the embed code copied earlier.
8. Click on the Update button.
9. Click the Submit button to view the embedded video.
