Review Chapter 3 – Choosing stakeholder analysis participants Purpose should be articulated before you begin but they may change over time. Deciding who is involved, how, when and why is a key strategic choice. Stakeholder Identification
Review Chapter 4 – Basic stakeholder analysis technique  Stakeholder Analysis
Why?
High Power, High Interest quadrant need to be fully engaged. These are the stakeholders you spend the most time and effort in managing. High Power, Low Interest quadrant must not be bored with over communication. Leave the micro details out. For example, a major faux-pas would be to send these stakeholders the daily team meeting notes. Helps group members identify stakeholder support, opposition and importance. The steps for completing this grid and an example are found in Bryson on page 348 and 350. Stakeholder Support Versus Opposition Grid
Different members of the planning team play the roles of stakeholders. This can be used to develop plans likely to address stakeholder interest, build a supportive coalition, and ensure effective implementation. This grid helps with revealing the proposals that are likely to be implemented successfully because they match stakeholder capacities and those that are likely to fail because of lack of capacity.
