Blackpool tower truly unique but enhances the
overall visitor experience.

Sense of Humour
The town has a strong comedy heritage, it has seen
some of the worlds best comedians gracing the
stages of Blackpool Tower over the years.
This has engendered an underlying spirit that
ensures Blackpool doesn’t take itself too seriously
and always retains a sense of humour in its
approach.

Magic
A major part of Blackpool’s attraction is it’s ability
to evoke a true sense of magic to children and
adults alike.
The essence of the Blackpool experience is
encaptulated by this magical spirit and we must
capture this in order to give our customers a true
and authentic experience.

Blackpool is a modern, confident and forward

live in it - Blackpool is a place that is constantly
seeking to re-invent itself and be more relevant.

17. Contextual Reference
Restaurant concept
Tower Structural Language
We aim to contextualise the space
by leveraging the significance of
our site and it’s key adjacency to
Blackpool Tower.
The tower has a highly complex steel and
cast iron structure of braced lattice girders,
tension cables and rivots.
It contains a beautiful juxstaposition of
proportions with layers of delicate internal
elements and heavier structual elements on
the outer skin.
Our interpretation strategy will reference
the language of the tower into new
materials without creating pastiche
installations.

Interior Evolution
Restaurant concept
We propose to retain most of
the elements from the existing
concept in terms of interior
architecture, fixtures & fittings
and general space planning.
This architectural language
was developed as a response to
the site, context and customer
profiling and will therefore work

Engagement Strategy
Our brand must resonate with people on a deeper
emotional level that goes beyond quality of food,
service and atmostphere.
In order to achieve this our brand must provide
the platform to engage our customers in a way that
will build communities, encourage user generated
content and create conversational capital.
We must also exploit and leverage social media
channels as a platform to build this community,
create an online buzz and spread the postive energy
generated within our environment.

Millenials
Millenials are confident, fast paced and tech savy. They
communicate and share information globally, in real time.
They have never lived without the internet, are native with social
media and expect instant gratification on aspects of life.
They will engage with brands that provide authentic experiences,
allow them to take centre stage, be in control and showcase their
lifestyle in the most positive and unique way.
They will spread positive experiences with brands instantly and
to a mass audience. We have a unique opportunity to provide the
vehicles that enable these experiences to happen.
