We understand the cultural significance of our proposed site. 17. Contextual Reference Restaurant concept Tower Structural Language We aim to contextualise the space by leveraging the significance of our site and it’s key adjacency to Blackpool Tower. The tower has a highly complex steel and cast iron structure of braced lattice girders, tension cables and rivots. It contains a beautiful juxstaposition of proportions with layers of delicate internal elements and heavier structual elements on the outer skin. Our interpretation strategy will reference the language of the tower into new materials without creating pastiche installations. 27—01—2016
