  7. 7. v Site - Blackpool Tower Restaurant concept 27—01—2016 This document will explore a design concept for our proposed site at Blackpool tower. We understand the cultural significance of our proposed site. Our aim to create an experience that not only captures the essence of what makes Blackpool tower truly unique but enhances the overall visitor experience.
  8. 8. Restaurant concept Family Friendly Blackpool is an inclusive, all encompassing and family friendly place that ultimately provides a great day out for all the family. 27—01—2016
  9. 9. Restaurant concept Sense of Humour The town has a strong comedy heritage, it has seen some of the worlds best comedians gracing the stages of Blackpool Tower over the years. This has engendered an underlying spirit that ensures Blackpool doesn’t take itself too seriously and always retains a sense of humour in its approach. 27—01—2016
  10. 10. Restaurant concept Magic A major part of Blackpool’s attraction is it’s ability to evoke a true sense of magic to children and adults alike. The essence of the Blackpool experience is encaptulated by this magical spirit and we must capture this in order to give our customers a true and authentic experience. 27—01—2016
  11. 11. Restaurant concept Modern & Relevant Blackpool is a modern, confident and forward thinking town. It celebrates it’s history but doesn’t live in it - Blackpool is a place that is constantly seeking to re-invent itself and be more relevant. 27—01—2016
  12. 12. Restaurant concept Fun Blackpool is an energetic, action packed and lively destination with fun for all at the heart of the experience. 27—01—2016
  13. 13. Restaurant concept Alive Blackpool really comes to life at night. A vast number of visitors come to sample the bars, restaurants and attractions after dark. Blackpool is the ideal destination for birthday parties, family gatherings and special occasions. 27—01—2016
  14. 14. v How can we capture the spirit of Blackpool within our environment? Restaurant concept Magic AliveFun Family Friendly Sense of Humour Modern & Relevant We have explored how we can bring these values to life within our space in an engaging, relevant and memorable way. 27—01—2016
  15. 15. Restaurant concept We will deliver the Spirit of Blackpool with an immersive digital experience that flows throughout our space Content will be tailored towards the seasonal, calendar driven approach of Blackpool and will flow through three key areas of the environment. 27—01—2016

  17. 17. Contextual Reference Restaurant concept Tower Structural Language We aim to contextualise the space by leveraging the significance of our site and it’s key adjacency to Blackpool Tower. The tower has a highly complex steel and cast iron structure of braced lattice girders, tension cables and rivots. It contains a beautiful juxstaposition of proportions with layers of delicate internal elements and heavier structual elements on the outer skin. Our interpretation strategy will reference the language of the tower into new materials without creating pastiche installations. 27—01—2016
