2. The Correct Media Institutions
There are many different media institutions that would distribute
magazines but there has to be a single one in which they are more
likely to do a better job at distributing and advertise my magazine as
they have similar types of magazines that they are already
publishing. I will be looking at four major institutions and decide on
which one is the best for my Magazine.

3. Number 1 - IPC
IPC is not the right media institution for me as it doesn't seem to
have nearly any music magazines and the one that it does publish is
NME which covers more Indie/Rock as well as some pop music and
so it is similar to the type of my music magazine but it concentrates
on multiple genre unlike mine which concentrates solely on Rock
music. However the problem with using this company to distribute
my magazine is that they already have a similar product to mine
which will take most of the the funding and so might not make my
media product successful.

5. Number 2 - Future PLC
Future PLC is a company that publishes and distributes many magazines and covers a wide
array of different genres and produce some music magazines. However they are not the
traditional music magazines as they are more about the equipment and lessons to start
learning how to use instruments.
This means that this company would not benefit me if I chose them to publish my magazine
as they don't have any experience of publishing music magazines that are about the music
and bands. However the company has not got any other music magazines and so this means
that it wont conflict with any other music magazines that they have

7. Number 3 - Bauer Media
Bauer media is another institution that publishes many magazines as well as
Radio, and online media. They offer a wide range of magazines but this
company also produces and distributes 3 music magazines which include,
Mojo Q and Kerrang.
This is good as Kerrang is the magazine that I took most of the influences for
my magazine. This company is perfect as they already have a product like
my one and is successful. However this would be a bad company to go with
as they already have a similar product and so they would be conflicting with
each other.

9. Number 4 - MAMA & Company
This is a more independent publishing institution and only publishes in the UK and
so this means that there is less competition and a good choice to go with as they
currently are only publishing an Indie magazine. It could also distribute it along side
O2 after concerts or even at popular UK gigs and get a lot of sales as plenty of
people visit these events. So this is one of the best candidates because of the
previous reasons.
