Sport (DCMS) is supporting the development of a
UK 5G Innovation Network to bring together
organisations across the 5G eco-system.
Prior to its launch in March 2018 the UK 5G
Innovation Network is now seeking applications
from individuals to join its Advisory Board.

5. Open sector competition round 4
Closes: 28 February 2018
Funding
Innovate UK is investing £19 million in this competition.
Open to the best business-led cutting-edge or disruptive
ideas or concepts with a view to commercialisation,
ideas can come from any technology (including arts,
design, media or creative industries) and apply to any part
of the economy.

6. SBRI: Agile and Self-powered Public Space CCTV
Closes: 14 March 2018
Funding
South Ayrshire Council’s (SAC) current CCTV system
has been in place for more than 20 years. The council is
looking to work with partners to develop a single
system with flexible cameras to tackle issues such as
crime and public safety.

7. Support for SMEs to evaluate innovative medical
technologies
Closes: 21 March 2018
Funding
The Office for Life Sciences (OLS) in partnership with Innovate
UK is to invest up to £1 million to support developers of
innovative medicines, medical devices, diagnostics and
regulated digital technology to evaluate their product in a real
world clinical setting.

8. January 2018 sector competition: Strand 2 - Emerging and
Enabling Technologies
Closes: 28 March 2018
Funding
The aim of this emerging and enabling strand is to help
businesses to innovate in order to find sources of revenue from
new products, processes or services.

9. Improving Health Through Digital Innovations
Closes: 18 April 2018
Funding
Innovate UK has up to £8 million to invest in new technologies
through the digital health technology catalyst. The catalyst was
set up under the government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge
Fund to address challenges around the development of digital
health innovations.

10. Digital Health Technology Catalyst Round 2
Closes: 18 April 2018
Funding
Funded through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, the Digital
Health Technology Catalyst (DHTC) is a £35 million fund, being run over
4 years. The DHTC is an important element of the government’s plans to
implement the Accelerated Access Review (AAR).

11. Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Simulation:
Collaborative R&D
Closes: 02 May 2018
Funding
The Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), in
partnership with Innovate UK, is investing up to £15 million in industry-
led projects. These will use holistic simulation and modelling systems to
develop approval mechanisms and standards.
