Every 3 to 5 years, PMI updates its PMBOK® Guide and revises its exam content guidelines based on current trends in the industry and feedback from professionals across all industries around the globe. PMI had published its 6th edition of PMBOK® Guide and an Agile practice Guide for the first time in 2017. PMI has now published the widely anticipated PMP® Exam content outline that is effective December 2019.  100% emphasis on project management framework and its applications
that includes 49 processes from five process groups and ten knowledge
areas and their applications
 Major emphasis has been on predictive lifecycles because of its wide-
ranging application across all industries and very limited application of
Agile until the recent emergence of the software industry

4. Three domains – People, Processes, Business Environment
• A big emphasis on people and interpersonal & leadership skills - 42%
• 50% emphasis on ten knowledge areas, and five process groups, and
their application (compared to 100% as of now)
Adaptive project lifecycle (Agile) is a major part of the exam
because of its increased adoption in the software industry
About 50% of the exam will represent a predictive (Waterfall)
life cycle, and 50% will represent Agile and hybrid approach
across three domains
