This is my final research work I embarked during my BBA final year studies. The world is now considered to be a knowledge economy in which organizations’ sharing and creation of knowledge form an important role in integration and innovation. Knowledge creation is recognized as strategically important organizational learning and innovation tool. Knowledge can be created through a continuous dialogue process between tacit and explicit knowledge, as well as through four patterns, namely; interactions or socialization, combination, internalization and externalization. The research problem was based on the fact that knowledge can become obsolete, so it is imperative that knowledge creation and management is a continuous process enabling efficient and effective business practices.

TPM - Manutenção Produtiva Total Instrutor: Paulo Henrique TPM Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) (em português, Manutenção Produtiva Total) é um sistema desenvolvido no Japão a fim de eliminar perdas, reduzir paradas, garantir a qualidade e diminuir custos nas empresas com processos contínuos. A sigla TPM foi registrada pelo JIPM ("Instituto Japonês de Manutenção de Planta"). A letra "T", de "Total", significa o envolvimento de todos os empregados. ESTRUTURA PARA IMPLEMETAÇÃO DO TPM A fase de preparação é de grande importância para o sucesso do processo de implementação da TPM. È nessa fase que estrutura-se e planeja-se toda a estratégia de implementação. O ponto mais relevante na fase de preparação é de obter o comprometimento de todo corpo executivo da empresa, mostrando-lhe que a estrutura hierárquica deve funcionar de forma integrada suporte ao “chão” de fábrica e autonomia e poder de decisão aos grupos autônomos. ETAPAS DE PREPARAÇÃO Etapa 1 – Direção superior declara a implantação do sistema TPM: consiste em conscientizar gerentes e supervisores sobre a estruturação necessária e funcionamento do TPM dentro da empresa. A direção superior da empresa deverá comunicar a todos os funcionários a decisão de adotar a TPM como metodologia para alcançar:acidente zero, perda zero e quebra zero. Etapa 2 – Educação introdutória e campanha para o TPM: A TPM é um movimento para o aperfeiçoamento da empresa através do aprimoramento das pessoas e dos equipamentos. Assim a medida que se faz treinamento para a introdução da TPM em todos os níveis hierárquicos, consegue-se maior compreensão sobre o assunto por todos, que além disso passarão a utilizar uma linguagem comum, aumentando sua vontade para enfrentar o desafio proposto pela TPM. Deverão ser treinados em cursos específicos: gerentes, supervisores, lideres, encarregados, engenharias, recursos humanos, operadores, etc. Etapa 3 – Estruturação para implantação do TPM: o objetivo desta etapa é criar uma estrutura matricial para promover a TPM, que junte a estrutura horizontal formada por comissões e equipes de projetos com a estrutura formal, hierárquica e vertical. Além disso, deve-se gerenciar participativamente através de uma estrutura de pequenos grupos multifuncionais. Deve-se criar uma Secretaria Administrativa de promoção da TPM e designar uma pessoa dedicada, que será responsável pela promoção do programa dentro da empresa. VANTAGENS DA TPM A TPM tem como principal vantagem, do ponto de vista econômico, uma melhor utilização do ativo de uma empresa, ou seja, o aumento da capacidade produtiva, com a manutenção do ativo, ou em alguns casos específicos, a manutenção da capacidade produtiva com menor utilização do ativo.
