WINTER SOLTICE CELEBRATION
Join us at Wainwright House for the Winter Solstice Celebration, where we connect
ourselves to nature. The evening consists of a fire ceremony and drumming with
Susan Wright, teacher of Shamanic practices. The winter solstice is one of the greatest
events on the calendar cycle. No matter what our spiritual beliefs, or what part of the
world we live, we all share the turning of the sun on the solstices. And, we respect the
solstice through a ritual that honors our ancestors, belief system, and a way of offering
prayer and gratitude.

TREE CONNECTIONS with
FRANK BUDDINGH’

in nature. They were and still are crucial
in supporting human beings as a species. People maintain a unique relationship
with trees. At this workshop, we will look at this relationship to re-focus on
their importance. The afternoon will give an opportunity to get to know trees
or reconnect with them. Frank will take you by the hand on this journey to
celebrate trees, talk about them with the aid of slides, and stroll along the
Wainwright property to discover signatures of their health. You will gain a deep

GROUNDSWELL RISING
How many children need to get sick? How long do we threaten our air, water and
sanctity of life before the alarms are heeded? With the Oil and Gas industry’s
expansion of fracking seen as a moral issue, this provocative documentary tracks
a people’s movement, a groundswell rising towards reason and sensitivity, to
protect life, today and tomorrow.
Thursday, September 18 • 7:00-8:30pm
UNACCEPTABLE LEVELS
Over 80,000 chemicals flow through our system of commerce, and many
are going straight into our bodies. Until recently, modern science really didn’t
understand what that could mean for all of us in the long run, but that is
changing. Unacceptable Levels opens the door to conversations about the
chemical burden our bodies carry so that we can make informed decisions now
and in the future. The film poses challenges to our companies, our government,
and our society to do something about a nearly-unseen threat with the inspired
knowledge that small changes can generate a massive impact.
Wednesday, October 15 • 7:00-8:30pm
TOXIC HOT SEAT
Chemical flame retardants are everywhere. Our furniture. Our homes. Our
bodies. But do they work as promised? And are they making us sick? Set
against the backdrop of the award-winning 2012 Chicago Tribune investigative
series “Playing With Fire,” Toxic Hot Seat threads together an intricate story of
manipulation that details how Big Tobacco skillfully convinced fire safety officials
to back a standard that, in effect, requires all furniture to be filled with toxic flame
retardants.

LECTURE & BOOK SIGNING with DR. HEIDI HUTNER, Author of
“Polluting Mama: An Ecofeminist Memoir”
Dr. Heidi Hutner is a writer, professor, environmentalist, mother and cancer
survivor. Come out and meet Heidi as she discusses her new book (releasing late
September 2014), “Polluting Mama: An Econfeminist Memoir”. In this book, Heidi
explores her cancer and mothering experiences through an ecofeminist lens.
After recovering from cancer, she became pregnant. Familiar with recent studies
that show mothers’ wombs do not protect their fetuses from external pollutants
to which we are all exposed, and that breast milk, too, is filled with contaminants,
she began to ask herself such profound questions. Listen to Heidi as she
discusses these questions and the journey that unfolded.

MUTUAL AWAKENING:
OPENING INTO A NEW PARADIGM OF HUMAN RELATEDNES
BY PATRICIA ALBERE AND JEFF CARREIRA
The Evolutionary Collective, a new
model for mutual awakening, marks the
creation and ongoing expansion of an
inter-subjective field of intimacy, truth,
mutuality and depth that occurs in a new
space in consciousness – one that allows
participants to transform inside an intense
and accelerated relational field.
Over the past decade more and more people have discovered a new kind of
spiritual awakening. It is more than an individual awakening. It is an opening that
occurs in the relational space between individuals. Many are calling this as the
new frontier of human development.
Mutual Awakening: Opening into a New Paradigm of Human Relatedness is the
first book by Patricia Albere and Jeff Carreira. It is devoted entirely to exploring
the profound experience of mutual awakening. Mutual Awakening is the
companion book to the Evolutionary Collective curriculum of the same name.
There are currently two main hubs for the Evolutionary Collective Intensives,
New York and San Francisco. Patricia co-teaches in New York with philosopher,
teacher and writer, Jeff Carreira. Presentation, Q & A and Book signing.

REFEATHERING THE EMPTY NEST: LIFE AFTER THE CHILDREN LEAVE
BY WENDY ARONSSON
Refeathering the Empty Nest is a must-read for any parent
preparing for the departure of their youngest child. This
book is for those who wish to move forward productively,
embracing new parenting roles that include spouse,
employee, friend, neighbor and self. Aronsson uses real-life
stories to show how people have managed these changes,
how they’ve reignited the passion in their marriages – or
in some cases moved on from bad relationships – and
rediscovered old talents and interests.
By the end of the transition, parents can look forward to forging stronger
relationships with their young adults. Aronsson’s stories provide hope and
guidance to parents whose nest is about to be empty and offers hope to parents
whose baby birds have already spread their wings and taken flight. Wendy is a
Licensed psychotherapist and resides in Greenwich, CT. Presentation, Q & A.

Unacceptable Levels opens the door to conversations about the chemical burden our bodies carry so that we can make informed decisions now and in the future. In this book, Heidi explores her cancer and mothering experiences through an ecofeminist lens. After recovering from cancer, she became pregnant. Familiar with recent studies that show mothers’ wombs do not protect their fetuses from external pollutants to which we are all exposed, and that breast milk, too, is filled with contaminants, she began to ask herself such profound questions. Listen to Heidi as she discusses these questions and the journey that unfolded. Sunday, October 26 • 4:00-6:00pm • $40 (Member); $45 (Non-Member) Registration deadline: Oct 22

  • 32. 30 Wainwright House • 260 Stuyvesant Avenue, Rye, NY 10580 MUTUAL AWAKENING: OPENING INTO A NEW PARADIGM OF HUMAN RELATEDNES BY PATRICIA ALBERE AND JEFF CARREIRA The Evolutionary Collective, a new model for mutual awakening, marks the creation and ongoing expansion of an inter-subjective field of intimacy, truth, mutuality and depth that occurs in a new space in consciousness – one that allows participants to transform inside an intense and accelerated relational field. Over the past decade more and more people have discovered a new kind of spiritual awakening. It is more than an individual awakening. It is an opening that occurs in the relational space between individuals. Many are calling this as the new frontier of human development. Mutual Awakening: Opening into a New Paradigm of Human Relatedness is the first book by Patricia Albere and Jeff Carreira. It is devoted entirely to exploring the profound experience of mutual awakening. Mutual Awakening is the companion book to the Evolutionary Collective curriculum of the same name. There are currently two main hubs for the Evolutionary Collective Intensives, New York and San Francisco. Patricia co-teaches in New York with philosopher, teacher and writer, Jeff Carreira. This book is for those who wish to move forward productively, embracing new parenting roles that include spouse, employee, friend, neighbor and self. Aronsson uses real-life stories to show how people have managed these changes, how they’ve reignited the passion in their marriages – or in some cases moved on from bad relationships – and rediscovered old talents and interests. By the end of the transition, parents can look forward to forging stronger relationships with their young adults. Aronsson’s stories provide hope and guidance to parents whose nest is about to be empty and offers hope to parents whose baby birds have already spread their wings and taken flight. Wendy is a Licensed psychotherapist and resides in Greenwich, CT. Presentation, Q & A. Wednesday, October 15 • 10:00am-12:00pm Members $20, Non-Members $24 aAuthor’s Series
