He was murdered in the aftermath of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, reportedly as retaliation for

His murder tarnished the image of the country internationally. X himself had worked to promote
a more positive image of Colombia, earning acclaim in the country. In 2013, then-coach

X can be said to be at the top of the list for highest estimated net worth. (In all

the world a better place.
39. Q 17: -Identify X &Y.
The following is an excerpt from an article by The Guardian. The part which is

mechanics of it, though a thousand words would never be quite enough to paint the
full picture. X made the kind of impression on the competition that was left by Didi in
1958 and Garrincha in 1962. It became the defining image of this global showpiece
event.
X came to symbolize the Y philosophy of the game being played at the 1974 World
Cup by the _____, somewhat erroneously perhaps, as X is all about one man’s
other-worldly skill while Y is a group effort.
X didn’t lead to anything rewarding regarding the match for the team involved, but
the sheer artistic brilliance has made it worth the hype even after all these years.”

• In the following Guardian interview excerpt, he talks about a rather odd superstition which
he developed.., “You know, by the rules of the game, until the match finishes you cannot
abandon the field. And if you have any necessary _____ urges, you have to go on the
ground. So that is what happened against Yugoslavia [in the 1990 World Cup quarter-
finals]. At the end of the game, I had it very severely, so I had no choice. But we won, so
then when the semi-final against Italy went to penalties, I did it again - and it worked! So
from that moment on, I did it before every shoot-out. It was my lucky charm.
47. Q 20:- Id the player being talked about.
Which match is being talked about?
