Thanks for coming
My name is LouiseDigital design agency in copenhagen called 1508Strategy and concepts for a lot of different clients.
And how many of you would like to start using it a a tool?I draw a lotevery dayIt is my main tool as a UX designer.Because I understand things better when i visualise itI solve problems quicker when i sketch itClients and colleagues have asked me recently:We’d like to learn that and this is when the idea of this talk started to take form.
I’d like to challenge that It is not about pretty drawings but about drawings enough for other people to recognise what it isAnd it might not always be muchI’ll show you
This is is a myth that I’d like to kill right away

Bob mcKimcrativity researcher at Stanford in the 60-70sActually tought David kelly who started IDEOAnd he loved to give his students this task:
Show it to the person next to you?Laughter?Sorrys?Bob McKim always experienced the same with grown upsTook it as evidence that we are afraid of bing judged by our peersVi are embarrased and shy about out creationSo maybe we have a great and wild idea but we are afraid to show othersIf you look at kids on the other hand, they are more than happy to show their creations
My point is that we have to learn to be proud of out creations againBecause drawings are big businessSo it is not about being good at drawing nicelyBut about having the courage to draw in front of othersThat is the barrier that needs to be overcome
Now wecandrawAnd wecan show othersThenwhy the big business?
In ourfield – or anyreallyTime = moneyAnd this isessentiallywhy simple drawingsarebig businessThey save us time
Simpledrawingshelpsus:Takethismessed up complicatedworldexplained in wordsAnd by visualising it,organize itUnderstand the problem
If you can visualise the problem you can probably also solve the problemIf we understand the problemWeare morelikely to solve it in a goodwayBtw, this is whatmy problems look likeAnd this is an idea
Research show thatpeopleremember more whenvisualisedWewillprobablysee a lot of sketch notes at UXLXBecausethenitseasier to remember all the goodstuffthatweexperiencedhere
There is a great chance this will happenSimple drawings helps us focus and have more productive meetings
Facilitating meetingsWhen visualising there is a greater chance that we will leave a meeting thinking the sameThat you are on the same pageMore productive meetings
Whileideasarecheap and nothing is prototyped, designed or codedThat is the essentialplace to save timeAnd sketching let usgettogether and do thisBecausewecanvisualise solutions at a super early stage

Good drawing tells us somethingChoose to visualise in different ways
