2. PRELIMINARY TASK
This is our first
attempt at a close
up and in my
opinion was of a
decent standard.
This skill was very
useful to me as in
the main task we
used a lot of close
ups
This was the 180
degree rule that I
learnt, a very critical
but basic skill that
was very useful
technique to learn.
However we did cut
off the characters
eyes, I have since
learnt from this and
This was our
attempt to pan our
character, in my
opinion was of a
good standard but
the framing could
have been better.
This preliminary
task was very
useful in improving
3. ARLINGTON ROAD REMAKE
We then created a remake of the
title sequence in Arlington Road.
This was very useful to me as it
gave me an idea of thriller title
sequences and helped me to
develop ideas for the main task
I also learnt more about
developing and arranging
titles, this was a very important
skill I learnt that helped me
produce the titles for the main
task.
This task also allowed me and
my group to discover new
angles and shots, also to
develop creative skills and
prepare us for the main task.
4. MAIN TASK
By the main task, I did
feel I had enough
knowledge to create
interesting titles.
Definitely though the
experience of creating
Arlington Road
remake, it helped me on
the main task. I know I
have improved since the
preliminary task
because before I had no
prior knowledge and
now I feel I
understanding making
We used a variety of
shots in our titles
sequence. However we
did focus on close up
because it created the
tension we wanted. After
creating Arlington Road I
felt that it helped us
because we have more
knowledge and
experience when filming
the close ups in our main
task.
We made sure to include
a variety of angles in our
main task, the preliminary
task helped us
understand how to film
these shots and angles
and though practice we
produced much higher
quality shots than from
Arlington Road and
Preliminary task.
