2. INTRODUCTION
Solar panel is used to generate power from direct sun light
and utilized it to traffic control lights.
Proposed model shows application of boost converter which
helps to charge battery from solar panel.
During day time solar panel charge the battery as well as fed
load and during night time battery will fed load.
LDR is used to control battery use.
4. COMPONENTS
Solar panel having 10W and 16.8V rating to be used.
But sun light is not constant so we need to boost it, so boost
converter is to be used for step up the voltage level.
Intensity of light is not constant so first simulation of project
is required.
Some disturbance is given to input of boost converter from
solar panel for consistency of circuit.
But output waveforms are unstable.
To over come this problem closed loop boost converter is
used.
5. COMPONENTS
Duty cycle is 14%.
Minimum inductance and capacitance are calculated 73.46mH
and 102.4µF respectively.
Switching frequency of boost converter is 31250 Hz
6. WORKING
Output of closed loop boost converter is constant during
disturbance and suitable for battery charging.
During day time battery is charged with help of closed loop
boost converter and solar panel also fed LED load.
During night time solar panel and closed loop boost
converter is isolated and battery is fed load.
7. CONCLUSION
Two solar panels are used, one for battery charging and other
one for fed LED load.
For better result close path is required, so closed loop boost
converter is used in place of open loop boost converter.
