2. COPYRIGHT
• Copyright refers to authors or creators of work to
have protection over their work and creates
penalties for people who copy, distribute copies or
recreate their work.
4. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO REMEMBER
• Copyright is a LAW protecting intellectual property
and its creator.
• A work is copyrighted if it is Original, Creative, and
Tangible.
• It is complicated! If you think it might be illegal, it
probably is!

copyright law. Under certain circumstances through
authors permission and “copyright” you can use
certain parts without it being considered copyright.

3. The amount and substantiality of the portion used
in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole
4. The effect of the use upon the potential market
for, or value of, the copyrighted work
8. USES OF RESOURCES
• General Legal Use: legal use by public
• Fair Use: use under fair use guidelines
• Illegal Use: violation under copyright or fair use
guidelines
