16
5 Pointers to Promote & Develop
Surfing in Grassroots Level in India.
1. Local schools and clubs require adequate infrastructure, surfboards
and surf accessories.
2. Workshop/Camps
should
be
conducted
by
international
professionals to teach and train surfers and surf teachers at
grassroots levels.
3. National & International competitions/events should be held
annually to bring more exposure to surfing and to create
competitiveness among athletes.
4. India National Team needs to get international exposure by
participating
in
International
events
organized
by
ISA
(International Surfing Association). Individual talented surfers can
pursue their surfing career through SFI.
5. Government and Corporates should come forward whole heartedly
to support surfing as an adventure water sports, tourism benefactor
and an activity which promotes eco-friendliness.
We are here to promote the
sport of surfing in India and for
the better surfing future for all.
