2. INTRODUCTION
 Gwadar is derived from two words “GAWAT”
means AIR and “DAR” means the DOOR, overall
its mean THE DOOR OF AIR.
 Gwadar sea is a warm water, deep sea port
situated along the Arabian ocean.
 It is also the gateway of Asia.
 Because of its strategic importance, different
powers in different century attacked Gwadar as
the history tills about.
 As the Gwadar is situated in Makran ,The word
Makran is actually a Persian phrase “Mahi
Khoran” which means “Fish Eaters” and with
time it became Makran.

4. HISTORY(303BC to millennium years)
In some 303BC, Gwadar is believed to be conquered by
the founder of the Persian empire, Cyrus the Great.
 The region remained on the sidelines of history for a
millennium until the Arab Muslim army of Oman
captured Gawadar including overall Makran.

5. In 15th century the Portuguese conquered many parts of
India and Oman They attacked Gawadar under the leadership
of Vasco de Gama.
but under the supervision of commander Meer Hammal
Jeehand Kalmati and Mir Ismael Baloch ,the Portuguese were
defeated by the Baloch; cannons of the Portuguese army found
near the central jail of Gwadar (primary infrastructure made
by Omani's). The grave of Meer ismael baloch is situated near
the mountain of Batil Gwadar..

7. By the end of 18th century(1783) ,the “Khan of kalat” Meer Naseer
Khan 1 granted Gwadar port under a treaty to the Sultanate of
Oman. After which the presence of Omani army at Gwadar, photo
courteous.

8. HISTORY(1800-1958)
 The British were ruling over the subcontinent in these time till 1947 ,
in this era gawadar port was under Omani rule as stated earlier
through a treaty.

9.  after nine month of independence of Baluchistan and in 1948 he Pakistan
occupies Baluchistan and in 1958 Pakistan has justification to take the
Gwadar port back through money and Crookedness from sultanate of
Oman.
 Pakistan paid 3 million dollar to the sultanate of Oman through a treaty
among Pakistan , Britain and Oman to make a port for a time scale of 20
years.
 So 1988 no any port made and don’t know why and how the full control
given to Pakistan in Baluchistan territory .

10. Current(2000 to 2019)
Gawadr is in Pakistan territory.
Some 2000, journal Musharraf handed gawadr to china.
Pakistan economy is low and as the interest of china to be the super
power , there is the cooperation of making mega project including
gawadr port.
In 2003 some 10 engineers were attacked when they were busy at
working, once Chinese left but in coming days taken the challenge.

 Agreement signed between Pakistan and china on April 20 , 2015

China handed Officially operation of port in 2013, the project is important
for china to more safely and reliably import oil and gases than through
strait of Malacca.
There are different phases to complete the mega project.
Project completion is on December 2019.
