18. General Conduct
All members of the Dalton community have a right to a
safe and supportive environment. The school supports the
principle of mutual respect, citizenship, character
tolerance and integrity.
Anyone infringing on this will not be tolerated.

19. Attendance
Attendance is defined as a student’s presence both in
school and in the classroom to which they are assigned at
all scheduled instruction and activity. Attendance is
critical to academic success

20. Term grades
 Each class will give you your assignment it fully outlines
the grading criteria
 In the case of disputes the correct order to approach
the issue is
 Speak to your teacher.
 Speak to division director.
 Accept decision. Move on study harder!

responsibility to do all your work to the best of your ability!

24. Academic Probation
 A student will be placed on Academic probation should
their term GPA fall bellow 2.0
 Students in this situation will shortly be having a
conference to rectify this situation.
 Students cannot participate in school sports if their GPA
is below 2.5

 Will be held daily from 12:50-13:20 in room 119
 Three detentions in one term will result in a conference with
parents

 Pants / Shorts / Skirts - khaki or navy blue
 Shorts and skirts should reach the middle of the
knee in length.
 Middle and High School Students are required
to
change into their P.E. uniforms for their P.E.
class.
 Male students are not permitted to wear
earing(s).

28. Breaking the dress code
 First offense: Inappropriate dress code will be reported to
High School Director and parents. A detention period will be
served.
 Second offense: Inappropriate dress code will be reported to
High School Director and a conference with parents will be
requested. Students in violation must change into appropriate
school uniforms immediately. A detention period will be
served.
 Third offense: Inappropriate dress code will be announced to
Head of School, High School Director, and parents. Students in
violation must change into appropriate school uniforms
immediately. Conference with parents will be held. A day of
in-school suspension will be served.

29. English Language Policy
 English is the official language of CDS.
 All students must speak English during school
times. This is from 8:00am – 4:00pm.
 There are students at this school from many
different nations. English is the common
language we all share.
 English Policy will be enforced strictly
throughout
the entire year.
 Ignoring this policy will result in consequences.

30. Breaking the English Language Policy
 As soon as it is heard a teacher will warn the student
 Continued use of a language other than English after a
warning will result in detention
 Again 3 detentions in a term will result in a conference
with parents

31. Technology Policies
 High School students :
Must bring and use laptop computers on CDS campus for
ACADEMIC PURPOSE ONLY.
 Mobile Phones:
 Should not be seen during class hours. Teachers will confiscate any phones seen during
class hours or in any of the common areas shared with middle school.
 1st time retrieve from High School Director at end of the day
 2nd time retrieve from High School Director at end of the week
 3rd time parents can retrieve the phone and you lose the privilege of bringing a phone to
school

32. Extra-Curricular Classes
 Tuesday and Thursday 2:45-16:00
 Will be majority student led
 If you want to form a new class must have 10 students
minimum plus a faculty supervisor.
 We will have a meeting about these this afternoon at
2:45 here.
