1. Methods of Insect pest control
The infestation of different kind of pest can be
controlled by the following methods:
1. Root cutting insect Mixing of insecticides
in soil. Eg; cholorpyriphos.
2. Stem and leaf cutting & borer insect
dusting and spraying insecticides. Eg; Lindane &
Malathion.
3. Sap sucking insect spraying insecticide.
Eg; Dimethoate and metasystox

2. Precautions for applying pesticides
• Do not touch with bare hands.
• Do not blow, suck or apply mouth to any
sprinkler, nozzle or other parts of the
equipment.
• Do not spray pesticides against the
direction of wind
• Uses only prescribed dose of pesticide for
spraying.

3. Storage of grains
• Cereals and food grains are stored by the
farmers, traders and FCI( Food Corporation of
India)
