How to implement OHS:

Functions of OHS (5):
1. Management of workplace occupational health risks

f. Return to work (OME b4 RTW. Assist worker to return & remain effective in job)
g. Follow up health of vulnerable group (pregnant mother)

i. Health promotion (to inform of hazards to EPE)
j. Post-employment ME (end of service to check any changes due 2 employment)

5. Alcohol & drug use screening
a. Type of screening – b4 job started/random/post incident;

i. Must have clearly written procedures
ii. Process must be explain to the individual

c. Legal matters
6. Travel health/medicine
a. To look into health issues of the EPE that needs to travel international/ domestic where
there’s a health risk involved
i. Pre-travel – immunization travel kits, medical conditions of EPE, available medical
services, medication for certain diseases (eg Prophylaxis for Malaria)
ii. During – on going medication (eg Malaria), arrangement of emergency evacuation
iii. Post-travel arrangement – ME, continue medication (eg Malaria), quarantine
7. Notification & health records (to comply with Legal Requirements)
