What a restaurant is?

 For me, a restaurant is an establishment where food
is served and provides a service, depending on the
theme and concept, in which the restaurant is
defined.
Cafeteria:

 Main characteristics:Instead of table service, there are food-serving
counters/stalls, either in a line or allowing arbitrary walking paths. Customers
take the food they require as they walk along, placing it on a tray.
 Type of food served:
1. Salisbury steak
2. Macaroni and cheese
3. Peanut butter and jelly
4. Cheese pizza
5. Cheeseburger and tater tots
 Examples: Starbucks, café coba, café Nader.
Fast food.

 Main characteristics: fast food restaurants provide limited table service.
Customers order, pay and collect their food at the counter. Food and beverages
are served quickly after the order is placed. Food and beverages may be
consumed at the premises or “taken out”.
 Type of food served:
 Pizza.
 Hamburgers.
 French fries.
 Tacos, or other food as purchased at retail.
 Examples: Pizza hut, McDonalds, subway, KFC.
Casual restaurants.

 Main characteristics: is a restaurant that serves moderately-priced food in a
casual atmosphere. Except for buffet-style restaurants, casual dining restaurants
typically provide table service.
 Type of food served:
 Pizza.
 Burritos.
 Steaks.
 Examples: salads, day light.
Fast casual dinning.

 Main characteristics: is a type of restaurant that does not offer full table
service, but promises a higher quality of food and atmosphere than a fast food
restaurant.
 Type of food served:
 Spaguetti.
 Burgers.

 Examples: chipotle, mexican grill.
Pub.

 Main characteristics: Mainly in the UK and other countries influenced by British
culture, a pub (short for public house) is a bar that sometimes serves simple
food fare.
 Type of food served:
 Snacks
 Alcohol.

 Examples: pizza mahok, mclaren, balverde.
Bistros.

 Main characteristics: has evolved from the original French idea to a type of
restaurant serving moderately priced hearty meals - French-inspired "comfort
foods" - in an unpretentious setting.
 Type of food served: bistro is a casual eating establishment that serves hearty
and simple meals accompanied by wine
 Examples: bisquets de Obregon, la casa de los abuelos.
Coffehouse.

 Main characteristics: casual restaurants without table service that emphasize
coffee and other beverages; typically a limited selection of cold foods such as
pastries and perhaps sandwiches are offered as well.
 Type of food served:
 Gourmet.
 Sandwiches.

 Examples: Café Nader.
Buffete.

 Main characteristic: Food is served on trays around bars, from which customers
with plates serve themselves. The selection can be modest or very
extensive, with the more elaborate menus divided into categories.
 Type of food served:








Salad.
Soup.
Appetizers.
Hot entrées.
Cold entrées.
Dessert.
Fruits.
