  LEAN	
  ini:a:ves	
  
and	
  applying	
  design	
  thinking	
  alongside	
  the	
  LEAN	
  methodology	
  will	
  help	
  the	
  project	
  
team	
  come	
  up	
  with	
  a	
  solu:on	
  that	
  is	
  of	
  value	
  to	
  the	
  end	
  user	
  and	
  the	
  organisa:on.

Key  learnings   •  The  end  user  /  stakeholder  is  extremely  important  in  the  design  thinking  process  –   you  need  to  understand  them  and  be  able  to  drill  down  to  the  real  problem  so  that   can  design  a  solu:on  that  meets  their  needs.   •  The  process  of  idea:ng  helped  me  to  create  many  ideas  that  could  help  solve  the   problem  –  it  enabled  me  to  change  my  thinking  process  and  come  up  with  many,   many  different  ideas  –  previously  I  would  have  jumped  to  one  or  two  solu:ons   and  just  focused  on  them  instead  of  opening  my  mind  up  to  many  different   possibili:es.   •  Prototyping  and  tes:ng  some  of  the  solu:ons  with  stakeholders  provided  me  with   valuable  informa:on  quickly  that  helped  me  to  know  if  I  was  crea:ng  something   that  solved  the  problem  and  also  gave  me  further  feedback  to  improve  on  the   idea.
