Purpose: The outsourcing of of the majoriity of information technology services to a large consulting
firm in order to: 1) Contain current and future IT costs through contract and services negoitation, 2)
increase opportunities for monitoring contractor performance, and 3)r educe corporate headcount.
Measurable Objectives: Reduction of $12M year in annual IT budget. Outsourcing of all IT applications
except Finance. Reduction in current IT headcount by 80%.
High Level Requirements: 1. Identify and contact 3 consulting firms. 2. Implement this outsourcing with
in 2 calendar year. 3. ROI should be attained within 18 months.
Hight Level Risks: Failure of any of the high level requirements. Withdrawl of corporate support. Pre-
mature resignation / termination of current IT staff.
Summary Milestone Schedule: contact prospective consulting firms 1 month; select vendor within 3
months; complete discovery and project requirements 6 months; finalized contract and costs 8
months; finalize application phase turnover of applications 9 months; application turnover every 2
months thereafter; all applications turned over by 17 months; warranty period to be completed by 18
months.
High level Budget: $6M FY1, $3M FY2
