Coyote Creek is a river that flows through the Santa Clara Valley that spans approximately 64 miles and is the largest creek in Santa Clara County. The river runs from Morgan Hill and continues flow through the San Jose and Milpitas area, which will eventually run into the San Francisco Bay. Yet within Coyote Creek, wildlife and the residents is what makes this body of water thrive.

Future – This can be handed to Michael or I can talk about this before transitioning to the next slide.
Future – What needs to happen.
In order to help spread the awareness of restoring the creek, we must educated and reach out to the community that surrounds Coyote Creek. The audience can be all colors, shapes, sizes because it takes a heart and effort to restoring the Creek. Restoring Coyote Creek is important because its where people and wildlife live.
Today, SJ has the biggest Vietnamese community throughout the country.
Attend 5 cultural events within the community throughout the year. Seek endorsements from political leaders such as MADISON Nguyen
(Vietnamese TET Festival Cultural Event (feb 22nd) VIETNAMESE NEW YEAR.
And-Educated these ethnic groups. Encourage them to be involved within the community and how important restoring Coyote Creek and how it impacts the environment.
- Ethnic groups care, they are just uninformed.
-people see branding, they see the MESSAGE. “oh yeah I’ve seen it.”
-every ORG must have some sort of BRANDING.
BRANDING: Puts a face/direction toward a movement. It gives it recognition, creditability, and momentum. By branding our Organization, the public sees our MESSAGE “keep coyote creek beautiful,” then people start talking about it,--- the more informed the public is == the bigger the movement is. (ex: apple providing stickers with product) without branding, organization looks like a one time weekend gig.
HOST---VOLUNTEERs CLEAN UP DAY (12): once a month. Volunteers, meals will be provided.
This is be the opportunity where volunteers can roll up their sleeves and really make a difference to clean up their community.
“Best advertising- word of the mouth”---- educated, people care, not informed!

There are people out here that care about the creek. There are not enough good media about the creek. We want everyone to not only know about the process about the restoration but to be involved in it. We hope that it will be restored in a better state by December 2015.
