This document discusses how Donors Unite provides a way for individuals and businesses to support charities by converting money spent on gifts into donations. It notes that while Americans spend over $1 trillion annually on gifts, only a small portion is donated to charities, representing an opportunity. Donors Unite addresses this by allowing gift recipients to donate the value of gifts to charities of their choice through redemption of unique codes printed on gift cards. This provides a creative way for businesses to express appreciation while also highlighting their social responsibility.

Our Mission
3. Since 2005, the amount of charitable donations by
Americans has remained fairly steady.
While in 2014 approximately $355 billion was donated
to charities, this total dollar amount appears to be
relatively finite since there has been only a minor
increase in that total amount since 2005.
Of the approximately $355 billion donated to charities in
2014, $258.5 Billion was donated by individuals but only
$17.8 Billion was donated by corporations.

Gift Spending 2015
While businesses spent over $76.9 billion
on gifts to clients and employees in 2015, they only
donated $18.46 Billion to charities.
5. People want gifts that give back locally
63% of high net worth donors cite “giving back to
the community” as a chief motivation for giving.
Millennials care about CSR
A 2014 Nielsen survey showed that millennials are
significantly more responsive to Corporate Social
Responsibility in both consumption as well as
employment decisions.
If only 10% of the $76.9 billion spent
annually on corporate material gifts
was converted to the purchase of
a Donors Unite charity gift card,
an additional $7.7 billion would be
redirected to charities to support
their missions.

This small but meaningful shift in
mindset empowers both the giftor
