If you are self-employed, you definitely must have sales skills. No sales, no money! That is the reality. I visited the biggest Lithuanian Sales conference. There were quite a lot of good presentations, but some of them were truly amazing. This time I want to present Richard Denny’s ideas about how you can improve your attitude towards the sales process. Richard Denny is a business development specialist, who has been variously described in The Times as “The master of professional salesmanship”, and by the BBC as “A legend on the international speaking circuit.” First mistake of a salesperson is thinking about your product or service, but not about your customer. What do they need? What is important for them? It is much easier to sell something when you hear what your customers want and what problems they face. What is your attitude towards your customers? If you see them only as a cash machine, it will cost much more energy to work with them and become partners with them. People buy people – we do business with people we like. What are the most important parts of being successful in sales? 1. Knowledge – you need to have a deep knowledge of your service or product, you need to clearly understand what you can offer to you customer according to his or her needs. 2. Skills – you can’t be the best from the first day. You are learning and growing every day, and you need to understand what skills you need to gain and train to sell your service. 3. Attitude is everything. Positive attitude can take you across the Atlantic Ocean. It helps you achieve goals and attain success. It generates more energy. You become able to inspire and motivate yourself and others. Be interested in another person, and you will sell yourself. http://www.mworker.com/en/the-way-of-being-sales-guru/ NO doesn’t mean NO! When people say NO, it is true for this particular time. Stay in contact to offer that in the future. To become successful, you must make NO a friend, not a foe.
