Rate	of	Globally	higher	Arabian	Unemployment		
Based	on	UNESCO	Report
•  Average	of	unemployment	percentage	in	MENA	region	is	
25.7%.	
•  Unemployment	percentage	among	Illiterate	is	7%.	
•  Unemployment	percentage	among	Higher	Educated	is	42%.	
•  MENA	region	needs	to	contribute	50	million	job	vacancies.

2.	Employer	advice	on	the	curriculum		
	For	in-depth	dialogue	between	schools	and	selected	employers.	At	Reading	at	least	four	
schools	have	well	established	Industrial	Advisory	Boards	with	middle	and	senior	management	
representa>ves	from	several	relevant	organiza>ons.	Although	currently	exis>ng	Advisory	
Boards	are	in	voca>onal	areas,	the	model	could	be	adapted	to	non-	voca>onal	subjects.	For	
example,	an	ac>ve	alumni	network	could	be	used	to	gather	feedback	on	medium	term	
curriculum	developments.

understanding	and	exercise	of	graduate	level	skills.

development,	job	seeking,	enterprise	and	entrepreneurship	and	cri>cal	explora>on	of	the	
concept	of	‘career’.		
Employability	modules	can	be	combined	with	content	on	Personal	Development	Planning,	
lifelong	learning,	study	skills,	work	placement	prepara>on	or	reflec>on	and	professional	
development.
