* Microstrip antennas are planar resonant cavities that radiates from their edges.
*Microstrip antenna are popular for low profile applications.
*Linear and circular polarization can be achieved effortlessly.
*Microstrip antennas are usually used for Ultra High Frequencies (UHF) & High
Frequencies (HF) because of the antenna size is tightened to the wavelength at the
resonant frequency.
*It provides better efficiency, larger bandwidth & better radiation.

*Also known as ā€œPRINTED ANTENNASā€, which consisting of a radiating patch on one
side of the dielectric substrate having a ground plane on the other side .
*Useful for high performance in extreme applications: aircraft, satellite, missiles,
cellphones and electronic devices.
*PROS:
*Cost effective, easy to fabricate, mechanically robust and very versatile.
*Capable of dual & triple frequency operations.
*CONS:
*Irrelevant radiation from feeds and from junctions.
*Poor scanning properties and very narrow frequency bandwidth.

*In the modified design, to achieved broadband operation miniaturization is obtained by
etching two rectangular slots, while converting a rectangular patch into a ā€œA-shapedā€

*From the modified antenna obtained an impedance bandwidth of 3.663 GHz with
RL of 17.21dB. S-parameter of the antenna states that it covers the WLAN &
WiMAX application band within the impedance bandwidth.

*Accumulated frequencies can be used for S-band communications.
*Particle accelerators may be powered by S-band RF sources. The frequencies are
then standardized at 2.998 GHz (Europe) or 2.856 GHz (US).

band.
* S-bandsā€™ properties are so unique that this band is mainly used for radar systems.

*In this paper a combination of A-shaped slot which is etched over the top
surface and rectangular slots are used for this purpose.
*The 10 dB impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 3.663 GHz
(3.152GHz-6.815GHz).
* Compactness of the antenna is achieved by embedding two slots at the ground
plane.
*From the desired frequencies obtained this A-shaped antenna can be used for
the applications of WLAN and Wi-MAX bands.

  • 3. 3 * * Microstrip antennas are planar resonant cavities that radiates from their edges. *Microstrip antenna are popular for low profile applications. *Linear and circular polarization can be achieved effortlessly. *Microstrip antennas are usually used for Ultra High Frequencies (UHF) & High Frequencies (HF) because of the antenna size is tightened to the wavelength at the resonant frequency. *It provides better efficiency, larger bandwidth & better radiation.
  • 4. 4 * *Also known as ā€œPRINTED ANTENNASā€, which consisting of a radiating patch on one side of the dielectric substrate having a ground plane on the other side . *Useful for high performance in extreme applications: aircraft, satellite, missiles, cellphones and electronic devices. *PROS: *Cost effective, easy to fabricate, mechanically robust and very versatile. *Capable of dual & triple frequency operations. *CONS: *Irrelevant radiation from feeds and from junctions. *Poor scanning properties and very narrow frequency bandwidth.
