Bangkok Metro Public Company Limited (BMCL) has become
the first metro operator in Thailand since Mass Rapid Transit
Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has given BMCL a confidence to
be the concessionaire of operating The M. R. T. Chaloem
Ratchamongkhon Line Project (The MRT System) on August 1,
2000.

7. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD
The Company realizes the significance of sustainable development so that the organization can
become one of the world's leading mass rapid transit operators by strengthening its
competitiveness while striving to seek a balance among society, environment and economy. The
Company signed to be a member of the Charter on Sustainable Development, Pledge Signatory,
of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in June 2008, and was accepted as a
member of the Charter on Sustainable Development, Full Charter Signatory, in June 2009 and
remains a member now. The Company is determined to comply with its contractual obligation to
ensure the strategic policies in line with the principles of the business operation to balance
among business, social and environmental growth, with internal systems for application,
monitoring, following up and reporting of the performance under such guidelines. Moreover,
the Company has participated as a member of another two international federations, namely,
