2. theextensionofsciencetocoversocialphenomena
3. theapplicationofscienceinrealworldsituations
• Dealingwithorganisationsascomplexsystemsthat
consistofseveralinterconnectedcomponents.
• Thecomponentsofthesystemscanbehuman,technical
applications,provisionofresources,software,hardware,
networks…etc.

processtofacilitatelearningabouttherealworld
problemsinordertoassesstheproblematical
situation,modeltherealworldsystems,andconsider

• SSMmakestwomaincontributionstosystemthinking
approaches:viewingthesystemas‘systemic’,insteadof
‘systematic’,andusing‘humanactivitysystems’(HAS).
