• If it’s called a pilot or concept test than it’s much more easy
to drop these projects.
• So make sure your company uses proper terminology and
something are better called concept test/pilot/early stage
project etc.

Your innovation structure
• make sure that you have the structure to support innovation
• Make sure your innovation team has a proper space,
physically and conceptually.
• Make sure they have the freedom to test and play with
ideas and the autonomy to make decisions

Support your innovators
• Help remove constraints and let innovators innovate
• Provide motivation, encourage and prove that the organization is serious
• Provide advocates to help people find where to go pitch their ideas

Reward failure and success equally,
but punish inaction
• No action means no innovation, but it goes the same for
failure. No failure also means no innovation
• Make sure that people feel free to suggest ideas
• Reward them for trying
• Never punish for bad ideas

• Think how you put these things in relationship so your team to move
forward
• Depending on the project stage, you should decide if it’s better for
each one to work independently or seat together as a group

• You might face is errant people or even groups
• You might need to intervene or else it’s just going to be way
more difficult
• Use team contract
