3. Women’s empowerment is the process in which women
elaborate and recreate what it is that they can be, do, and
accomplish in a circumstances that they previously were
denied.
Empowerment can be defined in many ways.
Empowerment is the process that creates power in individuals
over their own lives, society, and in their communities.
Feeling entitled to make your own decisions creates a sense of
empowerment.
Empowerment includes the action of raising the status of
women through education, raising awareness, literacy, and
training.
Women’s empowerment is all about equipping and allowing
women to make life determining decisions through the
different problems in society.
4. JAYSHREE VYAS, has been appointed as first independent
woman director of BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange).
Indian shooting ace APURVI CHANDELA attained the
world number one position in women’s 10 metres air
rifle event.
HEENA SIDHU is the first Indian pistol shooter to reach
number one in the ISSF(International Shooting
Sport Federation) world ranking.
Former Indian President of India, Pratibha Patil has
been conferred the “Orden Mexican del Aguila
Aztec” (Order of the Aztec Eagle) – the highest
civilian award of Mexico given to foreigners.
5. Mumbai based journalist and playwright Annie Zaidi
has been declared as the winner of Nine Dots
Prize -2019 for her essay Bread, Cement,
cactus.
Female Omani author Jokha Altharthi is the winner of
the 2019 Man booker International Prize for
her novel “Celestial Bodies”.
Rajasthan’s Suman Rao emerged the winner of Miss
India 2019.
Mohana Singh becomes first woman fighter pilot to
fly Hawk jet.
6. It is synonymous with complete development of the society.
An educated women, with knowledge about health, hygiene,
cleanliness is capable of creating a better disease-free
environment for her family.
A self employed women is capable of contributing not only her
family’s finances, but also contributes towards increment of the
country’s overall GDP.
Women aware of their legal rights are less likely to be victims of
domestic violence or other forms of exploitation.
The 73rd & 74th Amendments (1993) to the constitution of India
have provided some special powers to women- reservation of seats
(33%) and the ‘New Panchayati Raj’- to empower women at least at
the village level, is a prime example.

8. Women should be known about their

of others.
