2. The main aim of promoting a product is to influence
consumers behaviour and to make them buy a
product.
One of the most popular strategies that is used by
businesses when trying to advertise a product is the
AIDA model. The model raises awareness and
creates a desire from the costumer so they feel the
need to buy the product.
3. The model explained
Attention (Must gain the attention of the audience)
Interest (It must hold the audiences attention)
Desire (Must arouse the desire to buy the product)
Action (the costumer buys the product)
4. How I will apply this to my media
work
Usually most of businesses use this process to
market their product or service effectively. It is often
used by many businesses in order to use when
making their adverts. Of course this method has
been updated or slightly changed depending on the
company to suit them better and to make their
product sell. At times the acronym changed to AIDAS
with the S standing for satisfying the consumer to
such an extent to which they come back to use the
product.
5. Since I am focusing on creating an advert and I am not
doing this for a business I will not use the more
modern approach REAN but AIDA instead.
Furthermore many other adverts use the old approach.
Now when I will be storyboarding my two adverts I will
keep AIDA in mind considering each stages and at
which times they will happen in my advert.
For my ancillary tasks I will also be creating a web pop
up and a radio advertisement. Which definitely will also
follow the AIDA model
