1. Costs:
The costs need to be considered which are the costs involved with the
project. The elements of the project I need to think about what will cost and
what will not. Overall not much will cost me money such as the method I
will be carrying out will be free as I can use the computer to use all the work
on.
Available resources:
Most resources will be available to me. The resources I will need will be
models, which I can get, a camera, which I have, and a computer on which I
have to. These are the main resources and they are very available tome so I
do not have to think much about the resources, as most of the resources I
need are available to me.
Quantity:
The quantity of my product will be a few hundred. The children’s story will
be part of a limited edition of vintage traditional fairy tales. So only a limited
amount will be printed and then sent to limited amount of bookstores. As it
will be a one of kind of book. Which can develop into a collection of vintage
traditional fairy tales.
Audience and Target Market:
My target audience is children from 5-9 who still enjoy traditional fairy tales.
My product is more biased to girls but I have chosen a colour scheme that
is not pinks more natural colours so boys are attracted to my product as
well. It’s aimed at more high class/middle class children who appreciate the
quality and traditional values of an old fashioned fairy tale. The secondary
audience is parents; Vintage is a very big trend at the moment so parents
may want to buy their children a vintage, quirky book. As they are the ones
that read them the book at bedtime.
Quality Factors:
To make my work the best quality I have chosen a method that after doing
experiments showed that this produced good standard professional work.
Rotoscoping looks professional and of a high standard because your skills
of having to do something for example drawing isn’t involved because it’s
on the computer.
2. Codes of Practice:
I need to think about the relationship with the publisher and the way the
author interacts with the publisher in a professional manor. The range of
legal and financial issues such as information on time and the quality of my
work. The illegality of it.
Regulation:
Possibly in the future Rapunzal could turn into a toy for example a Barbie
type of doll or a stuffed dolly. This will then need to go through the
regulation of the toy safety act.
Copyright:
My work is all my own as the copyright act will protect the work that I do. I
have taken inspiration from the internet but have not planned to copied
anyone else’s work and pass it off as my own. The brothers Grimm have
died more than 100 years ago so by law it is ok to use their story
Ethical Issues:
My work has a good representation and decency as it is a fairy tale it is
known to all ethical background. So it is not coming into any ethical issues
as such. It doesn’t have a massive cultural background as it’s a fairy story.
But as its well known then any cultures will be familiar with it.
