Project Manager, April 2015 to January 2016
Brought in to take over an extensive migration project, dealing with the merging of Capquest Investments Ltd into
the Arrow Global Group, migrating the Arrow data to a new, industry recognised software platform used by t he
newly acquired Capquest.
Responsibilities include planning the 4 linked projects that form part of the overall migration, ensuring resource
availability, timescales and workloads. I have also worked closely with the development team (due to my SQL
skills) to assist with design and coding where needed, and have taken over management of their work schedule to
ensure resource availabilty. I work with a number of other Project Managers to ensure business critical projects
get access to resource, and also make weekly presentations to the IT & Change Director, as well as weekly
Highlight and Status reports. I also co-ordinate resource across two sites in Manchester and Farnborough as well
as working with Interactive Intelligence (the software supplier) in the U.S.
INTEGRATED DENTAL HOLDINGS LTD.
Head of M.I., June 2012 to March 2015
Originally brought in to design a Data Warehouse solution, this has rapidly evolved into heading up the MI Team,
as well as being responsible for Production and Development DBA duties and designing hardware and DR
solutions to suit the largest Dental Holdings company in the UK.
I designed their initial Data Marts, and designed the finished Warehouse (based on Kimball methodologies), as
well as designing their reporting solutions. I was involved in the decision to implement SAS solutions for ETL
and Data Cleansing, and designed a number of Disaster Recovery solutions for them. I also designed and
prototyped their Alternative ETL using SSIS and Transactional Replication from over 650 satellite sites.
I also developed training strategies for the MI & DBA teams and worked closely with the Application Developers
to ensure the two teams worked cohesively. I introduced Agile methodologies to the Team, including Daily
Standups, Scrum and elements of Extreme Programming, and helped the Finance department implement Cognos
TM1 for forecasting, as well as producing the SQL views used to build the Cognos reporting cubes.
The result was an industry leading M.I. systemgiving IDH a lead on it's competitors.
Responsibilities included co-ordinating the MI & DBA activities of my team, ensuring the smooth running of
current production systems, working closely with other department heads and regular presentations to the

CALLCREDIT INFORMATION GROUP LTD
SQL Server Database Consultant, November 2010 to May 2012
Designing and implementing an organisation wide Disaster Recovery solution for one of the world's leading credit
check agencies. I was responsible for the design of the system using SQL Server Mirroring in combination with
NetApp filer technologies, using SQL Server 2005, OnTap 8.1, SnapDrive and SnapManager for SQL.
Also responsible for creating the Powershell scripts to automatically initiate the mirroring sessions and control the
database backup and restore for several OLTP systems with databases in excess of 2 Terabytes and a total
mirrored data size in excess of 30 Terabytes.
After a successful completion of this project I have moved on to work with their DataCentre migration, moving
their online systems and databases to a new, purpose built datacenter, upgrading the databases to SQL Server
2008 R2 and implementing a customized Mirroring solution, before moving on to GEO-Cluster in Phase 2, again
working with total data sizes in excess of 20 Terabytes.

Dealing with the workload profiling and migration of Swinton’s largest SQl Server systems from Direct Attached
